Requirements Position Summary We are looking for an ambitious professional to join our team as a Transportation Specialist (Parcel) to ensure we provide competitive parcel delivery solutions. This position will play a key part in Gelato’s continued growth. This person will support the logistics team by identifying issues and solutions, monitoring and managing supplier performance, and tackling escalated operational issues that arise. We are seeking creative thinkers and “hands-on builders”. To be successful, you need to be able to understand technology, be able to analyze and translate data into real world high-impact actions, and have an entrepreneurial mindset. What you will be doing Drive forward and improve the customer delivery experience by providing analytical, project management, and issue resolution support. Work with multiple modes of transportation including; Ground Parcel, LTL, and Air Express. Continuous Improvement Management with carriers, development of metrics and SOPs. Prepare weekly/monthly reports on Carrier related KPI metrics, analyze, identify outliers and engage with carriers to identify the cause. Test our delivery network. Conduct audits of our shipping network and make recommendations to improve routing, and manage customer expectations on lead times, customs fees, etc. Model and monitor delivery performance and recognize issues related to shipment and delivery. Understand the root cause and come up with creative ways to solve them. Create strategies and recommendations to provide competitive shipping options to our customers. Model and monitor our shipping costs including a P&L, ensure cost accuracy, and make recommendations based on market intelligence. Support new market and product expansions. Gain/expand your exposure to global regions and support the logistics team globally. Maintain proactive lines of communication with relevant stakeholders inside and outside of Gelato. Manage daily queries and requests from Carriers and Internal Stakeholders. Provide support during peak season, such as preparing and sending volume forecast to carriers. You are analytical, data-driven, and have a passion for technology. You are a team player and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. Moreover, we would like to see evidence of the following in your profile: 2-4+ years of logistics/supply chain management experience; required experience in parcel logistics. A Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, supply chain or a relevant field with excellent academic results. Passionate individual with a desire to learn and grow professionally. Ability to see what needs to get done independently and mobilize multi-functional teams to deliver. Proven ability to leverage data to identify problems and create solutions. Strong attention-to-detail, excellent time management and organizational skills; ability to multi-task and thrive in a deadline driven, fast-paced environment with diligence and accountability. Excellent problem-solving skills and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done. Passion for technology, market disruption, and the power of data. Business fluent in English. Ability to speak any other language in addition to English is a plus.
