Gay Lea Foods in Guelph is a food processing facility producing butter, aerosol whip cream and powdered milk products. We are seeking Part Time employees who will generally work 24 hours per week now, moving to 40 hours per week during our vacation season. This is a unionised position that currently starts at $18.20 per hour and progresses to $23.00 per hour after 1 year. The work schedule generally comprises 3 shifts of 8 hours per week, Monday thru Friday, and can be on any of three 3 shifts for the week. Our day shift runs 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. our afternoon shift runs 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. and then nights is 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Part time employees can expect to mainly rotate between days and afternoons but must recognise that night shifts are also a possibility from time to time. Part Time employees will be trained to operate automated equipment Set-up and complete automated (CIP) Clean In Place washes as well as manual cleaning of equipment. Prior experience with (GMP) Good Manufacturing Practices, and (HACCP) Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points are considered assets Foods Safety and Quality training will be provided. Our work environment has regular exposure to noise, odours, chemicals, moving machinery, frequent interruptions, dust and extreme temperature variations. Ability to handle occasional weights up to 35 kg. This job does NOT suit students having requirements to attend classes.
