Job Description Working as part of the CH&CO Learning & Development Team, and reporting into the Head of L&D, the purpose of the role is to drive achievement of the Gather & Learn objective: “Develop a culture of learning, where every manager is empowered to coach, train and develop their people; every gatherer can develop their skills, knowledge and experience through a variety of media to enable their career growth and personal development.” Responsible for delivery of Learning & Development activities across the relevant business and to support Site Managers and Operations Directors with their responsibilities in this area. This role also supports the Head of Group Learning & Development. Learning and development Partner with the business to ensure L&D plans are developed to support the ongoing operational requirement, development of talent and growth of the business. Responsible for the implementation of the CH&CO L&D strategy within the Gather & Gather business. Delivery of inspiring and energising classroom-based training, to include the regular induction and training courses as well as ad-hoc courses to support project launches. As required, the creation of inspiring and educational learning interventions using a variety of learning/training and delivery styles. To use technology and interactive learning interventions to their best potential Suggest ideas that put Gather & Gather at the forefront of new L&D techniques and courses and is seen as the industry leading food businesses. Contribute to embedding the CH&CO values and the Gather and Gather Ideals to drive employee engagement. Be active within the food industry and learning & development field; attend and present at networking events and bringing back best practice that will benefit the business. Have fun and be passionate about what you do Apprenticeship Academy. Actively promote and encourage the CH&CO Apprenticeship Academy within the Gather and Gather Business. To report on Apprenticeship Academy progression monthly. Support the management of the CH&CO Digital Apprenticeship System People Communication. Maintain a positive working relationship with Managers & Directors, site managers and the Operations team through consistent communication and excellent customer service. Assist with projects that the wider People & Development team are undertaking Understand other roles in the P&D team to provide support when required Administration To account for the financial impact of training within the business and present monthly reports on training hours, course attendance, cost impact and return on investment where possible. Ensure all training content is up to date and relevant at all times. Ensure training records for the business are up to date and easily accessible. To evaluate the impact of training in the business and adjust the future plans accordingly. Responsible for any necessary training recharges and raising relevant purchase orders. Personal development Take responsibility for personal development looking for opportunities to expand skill, knowledge and behaviour. To attend training courses and meetings when necessary. Ad Hoc Duties To work in a manner that shows understanding and appreciation of Health and Safety practices. To report any equipment and/or building fabric faults and any hygiene, health and safety hazard to the relevant parties on site. Qualifications Experienced in a Learning & Development role and in training design and delivery Driver’s licence required and willing to travel across the UK, often for overnight stays Engaging, inspiring personality, proactive and self-motivated attitude Background in food, catering and /or hospitality preferred but not essential Flexible, driven and an ambassador for creating inspiring customer experiences Exceptional communication and presentation skills Additional Information We will consider flexible working arrangements and as this role is regionally based, we will welcome applications from all locations across the UK.
