Job Summary Reporting to the General Manager of the Unit, the Supply Chain Manager is responsible for the overall financial, operational and compliance accountabilities of local Purchasing, the Warehouse and IDS departments.This role liaises closely with the Regional and Procurement and Materials Management team to ensure that desired materials efficiencies are achieved. Your Key Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to: Leads, provides strategic direction and drives continuous improvement of the Supply Chain department. Achieves unit's operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; serving as resource to operations managers; identifying and resolving problems; completing audits; determining system improvements; implementing change. Primary stakeholder of all unit inventories - unit based (Bond & Receiving stores) and 3rd party based Directs and monitors all Supply Chain activities to maximize the use of the organization's resources. Overall accountability for the department including recruitment, training and development, and performance management. Ensures quality standards are followed and maintained. Ensures employees adhere to HACCP, FDA and safety regulations and compliance with company policies and procedures. Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with sanitation and federal, state, and local legal regulations; reviewing and implementing accident and disaster plans. Collaborates closely with other operational areas and support functions of the unit as well as the regional network in regard to frozen meal logistics. Required Work Experience: A minimum of 5 years' experience in a leadership position within Logistics, Supply Chain with in a Manufacturing environment, coupled with an overall stable work history. Background in large-scale production and assembly, (i.e. high-volume Food Production, Retail or FMCG) is required. A minimum of 3 years' experience in managing large (+50 FTE) multidisciplinary teams. Understanding of Food manufacturing and related processes is highly regarded. Experience in major change management projects. Experience of working in a Food Hygiene/Health & Safety/High Security environment preferred. Experience of working in a fast-paced, dead-line driven unionised environment. Must have strong and effective leadership skills, and the ability to successfully manage the staff. Experience with applying Green Belt and/or lean manufacturing techniques system preferred. Strong organizational, analytical, communication and problem-solving skills are required. Must be innovative and have the ability to make changes to the operation as needed to further improve the work environment and unit performance.
