RESPONSIBILITIES include: Contributing collaboratively and professionally, in a team environment, to the development and implementation of specific requirements and technical problems Providing solutions for complex software problems for existing applications Improving and extending existing software with limited assistance from other associates Reviewing complex tasks for soundness of technical judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy Demonstrating proficient use and knowledge of established standards and procedures Demonstrates strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in a large team or departmental settings. Demonstrates effective discretion, judgment and decision-making abilities Communicates status of work clearly providing visibility to supervisor Understands and fulfills Garmin's and departmental Mission, Vision, Values and Quality Policy Requirements Strong proficiency with Javascript application development including asynchronous programming, Promises, ES6. Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as VueJS, ReactJS or similar. Experience with server-side programming using NodeJS, associated frameworks (Express) and module bundlers like Webpack or Grunt. Experience with mobile/tablet support including responsive web design. Experience with development processes including version control, automated testing, security, and performance considerations across modern browsers. Experience with service-oriented architecture and utilizing RESTful APIs. Experience developing web services and manipulating data in JSON and XML formats. Familiarity with unit and automation testing concepts and technologies. Experience with CSS preprocessors such as SASS and LESS and responsive web design. Interest in continuous optimization of both code and resources. Must demonstrate ability to learn and understand secure coding practices. Interest in understanding the projects’ infrastructure layers and improving upon them. Qualifications and background: BSc in Computer Science, IT or similar 3+ years of relevant work experience Would be a plus: Good knowledge of Java Fundamentals and OOP principles Experience with search and indexing technologies such as Elasticsearch. Experience with Git or other distributed source version control systems. Experience with working as part of an Agile (especially Scrum) team.
