To this day, the company continues to manufacture its famous confections in the town of St. Stephen, New Brunswick. Ganong continues to grow in the fast paced & competitive world of food manufacturing and is currently seeking an Accountant in our Finance Department. This position will be given the opportunity to work from home with the expectation to commute to St Stephen a few times a week, as needed. Position Summary Reporting to the Controller, the Accountant position will provide accounting, analysis, and administrative support to assist the Finance Team in providing information to support internal decision making and external financial reporting. Key Responsibilities: Bank, credit card, and petty cash reconciliations Prepare monthly recurring and ad hoc journal entries Prepare departmental reports and analyze variances Maintain and update amortization/depreciation schedules Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end G/L account reconciliations Complete regulatory reporting and filings Support budgeting and forecasting process Prepare and distribute sales and operational reports Collaborate with account managers to prepare product costings Prepare product and customer margin/profitability reports Identify opportunities for increased efficiencies and continuous improvements Qualifications: Post-Secondary education in Accounting/Business, preferred CPA program student Excellent computer skills, advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge Strong organizational and communication skills Experience working with SAGE X3 ERP and Nectari systems considered an asset Must be legally entitled to work in Canada - we will NOT be providing a work permit for this role Ganong appreciates all applicants; however only those selected for an interview will be contacted Job Type: Full-time Benefits: Extended health care Vision care Disability insurance Dental care Life insurance Flexible working hours Company pension Work from home opportunities Casual dress Wellness programs Company events & social hours Education reimbursement Employee assistance programs Subsidised gym membership Vacation & paid time off On-site parking Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
