Event Manager- Hoofddorp, Netherlands - 6 Month Fixed Term Contract We are actively looking for an Event Manager for our office in Hoofddorp, Netherlands. As part of GP Strategies, our Netherlands office mainly focuses on event and project management projects. Projects can be of a diverse nature from online virtual events, training programs, to full-scale conferences and congresses, as well as registration and marketing support. Job description: As an Event Manager, you will use your strong organisational and communication skills to plan and manage the execution of projects from A to Z. You will work as an individual as part of a team, to implement projects using the existing and evolving methodologies and tools in place. Your main tasks will include: Coordinate the organisation of project activities ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget constraints. Successfully manage a number of projects simultaneously. Onsite management at the event itself. This means Travelling to events within Europe and managing and overseeing the event from Beginning to End. Act as the primary liaison between all team members assigned to a project Coordinate all aspects of project delivery including defining project scope, specifying deliverables, estimating project duration, effort and cost, managing project budget, creating detailed project plans and managing change requests. Ensure project success by driving day-to-day operations through the application of sound project management principles and methodologies. Maintain regular communications with the Management Team (MT), active team and business stakeholders to ensure necessary and appropriate steps are taken to resolve difficulties, which may impede progress or compromise achievement of a project’s objectives. Maintain a detailed status, activities and issues report on each project to present to MT and major project stakeholders. Ensure each project team has established meaningful, key metrics that properly reflect the performance of the team and indicates progress towards objectives. Drives recommendations on project prioritization. Provide feedback to GP Management Team and project stakeholders from a post-completion analysis of all projects. Work with the relevant team members to define and update standards and processes and contribute to continuous improvements within the teams. The ability to identify, promote, leverage, and develop new business opportunities for the Deployment Services team and GP Strategies as a whole. Comfortable working in a dynamic, flexible, growing and international office environment. The ideal candidate will have the following expertise: Have evidence of corporate project or event management expertise. Is conversant in various tools for statistical analysis, management, project planning, and time tracking including Microsoft Office. Is detail orientated with excellent analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to deal with situations where information is difficult to obtain, complex or ambiguous Has a strong sensitivity for the customer perspective – this position includes communicating with end customers as well as suppliers on various business levels. Exhibits excellent organizational skills and teamwork skills. Is result focused and has strong time management & planning skills Is comfortable working independently or as part of a team Have proven oral and written communication and presentation skills in English and Dutch, this is a MUST. The preferred candidate must be completely fluent In English and Dutch.
