In this role, you will develop deep relationships with commercial and industrial organisations, government bodies and aid agencies to better connect science with end-user needs and drive greater relevance from scientific research In joining us in our drive to develop strategic partnerships to improve the relevance, value and impact of our science, and create new opportunities for high-value products and services, you will: build relationships with private-sector organisations, government bodies, and aid agencies to connect our science with end-user priorities, both in New Zealand and in our broader region deeply understand and effectively communicate end-user needs, to ensure GNS Science is ready to respond to current and future opportunities and deliver benefit to our clients By building effective, high-trust relationships, you will contribute to GNS Science's mission of a cleaner, safer, and more prosperous New Zealand. Naturally, you will have: demonstrated commercial acumen and experience in shaping new business opportunities proven ability to open new doors and build and maintain strong relationships an aptitude for negotiating and closing deals, and developing and implementing new products and services that meet client needs influencing skills and sufficient technical knowledge to communicate effectively with both external clients and internal stakeholders business case writing skills, an ability to clearly define value and articulate value propositions; you may even have direct experience with Treasury's Better Business Cases methodology and thinking a willingness to travel within New Zealand and potentially overseas If you are an experienced (five years or more) and confident relationship builder with a 'can do' attitude, high levels of energy and drive, then join our vital team and be part of an exciting new chapter in the geosciences in New Zealand and our region.
