ABOUT FRESH CITY Fresh City, founded in 2011 by Ran Goel, is a city farm and retailer of farm-fresh, organic produce and prepared food. Each day we make locally and organically sourced meal kits and chef-inspired meals, salads, snacks and breakfasts from scratch. In late 2018 we acquired Mabel’s Bakery, a popular bakery in Toronto, producing artisan breads and pastries. Shortly after, in early 2019, we acquired The Healthy Butcher, a pioneer in organic and 100% grass-fed beef. We farm in Downsview Park as well as at Baka on Highway 427, and we have eight retail locations between our three brands. Fresh City delivers straight to our customers’ doors or to pick-up locations throughout the Greater Toronto Area. By bringing makers and eaters together, we are changing how people think about food. ROLE SUMMARY The Retail Sales Associate is the face of our company and a valuable member of our team. Our team strives to offer our customers top-notch products, service, and memorable experiences. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure new and existing clientele are satisfied and will return every time. This is our #1 priority at all times. Ensuring the protocols are followed, the store is open on time and all tasks are completed thoroughly. Ensuring the store is well presented, organized and constantly monitored. Ensuring the invoices are correct, the product quality is good, the product is recorded and displayed to specification. Checking dates, record keeping, inventory, sampling, rotating etc. Cleaning, organization and store maintenance. Greeting and communicating with customers KEY QUALIFICATIONS: Previous POS/cash experience preferred. Food industry experience is also an asset. Strong work ethic. Able to work as part of a team and independently. Able to handle a fast-paced schedule. Has a passion for local foods and cooking. Strong customer service skill. Able to stand through the entire shift. Able to lift up to 40lbs repeatedly. Has some related experience in food service or customer service. OTHER DETAILS Full-time position between 35 to 40 hrs per week. Full weekend availability required, opening and closing shifts Able to work hours between 8:00 am - 9:30 pm.
