SUMMARY OF POSITION AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary purpose of this position is to aid the PED Engineering team in the completion of assigned mechanical projects under the supervision of an experienced design engineer. KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS (KRA): Assist with engineering designs and detailing of automated machines for flexible packaging systems. Assist with engineering projects as a resource for designing and modeling 3D CAD parts, assemblies and drawings. Assist with the assembling, testing and troubleshooting of assemblies and systems Assist with the creation of Bills of Materials and recommended spare parts lists Assist with the development and documentation of machinery manuals, work instructions, schematics and processes. Assist with Engineering Change Orders and purchasing releases ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION: Desirable Skills/Knowledge: Basic desire to learn engineering principals as they pertain to engineering at Fres-co. Basic understanding of mechanical principals; i.e., Gears, Motors, Pneumatic components. Basic understanding of mechanisms and mechanical motion Basic understanding of electrical principals; General power circuitry, General control circuitry is ideal but not a necessity. Good understanding of PC usage, Microsoft word, excel, project. Good understanding in the use of 3D CAD systems. The ability to create and modify existing parts, assemblies and drawings. Experience with AutoDesk Inventor a plus. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: At least (2) two semesters of an engineering curriculum. Previous CO-OP experience is helpful but not required. Must be able to perform physical labor as it pertains to the department’s scope of operation.
