We're looking for a dedicated and talented Director of Training and Development to become part of our Foundation Academies Team. Our Director of Training & Development will be our leader of teacher and leadership development and drive innovation to our academic and character curriculum. We deliver targeted training programs for teachers and leaders, aligned with -- and in support of -- academic excellence and improved quality of schooling. We are looking to create and implement a complete system of training and development, from new hire onboarding and training to leadership development and succession planning. Reporting to the Chief Academic Officer, we are seeking a results-driven Director of Training and Development to join the Foundation FAmily. This individual will manage and execute leadership and teacher development programs that strengthen vital leadership and teacher attributes, in support of organizational goals and priorities. Here's what you'll be doing: You'll be leading, designing, and implementing teacher and leadership professional development programs with performance measures to gauge program effectiveness. You'll be creating a top-notch onboarding experience for all newly hired staff members and internal transitions with the goal of getting them to understand, embrace and model the values and core beliefs of the organization, as quickly as possible. You'll be continuously pursuing personal learning and education in efforts to consistently innovate and improve the quality of schooling for our scholars, thus meeting strategic plan goals/outcomes. You'll be sharing input on key talent issues such as engagement, succession planning, and retention. You'll be relentlessly tracking and measuring results so that we can drive continuous improvement. You'll be consistently evaluating training approaches, materials and resources, to ensure they are effective. You'll be conducting consistent walkthroughs on our 4 campuses to ascertain effectiveness of training provided and give feedback to teachers, mid-level, and senior leaders on how to improve programming/key skills. Understanding how to get students excited about learning and preparing them for the nation's finest college. Have evidence of strong performance in leadership development strategy, design and implementation Expert facilitator who possesses a strong presence and displays energy and charisma Proven experience digging deep into organizational problems, identifying gaps, being precise and practical about solutions that close gaps and solve problems Execute on multiple projects with extensive detail coordination and program management Experience managing a team and building strong relationships across an organization Possess a strong understanding of adult learning theory, instructional design, curriculum development and assessment methodologies; keeping up with leading-edge approaches to leadership development and continuously scouring the external landscape for innovative thinking and solutions Experience leading and/or facilitating large scale and effective change initiatives related to training curriculum, onboarding and team building at a high achieving charter school.
