Must be able and be competent to support students’ growth in the areas of cognition, communication, physical and social development support and/or implement teacher directed programming work collaborative under guidance of teacher, CST and other member of the multi-disciplinary team implement specialist (OT, PT, SLP, etc) strategies to achieve required goals implement behavior management and educational strategies that facilitate student learning communicate effectively with students using age appropriate positive reinforcements and/or school specific behavior strategies observe student behavior with focus on achieving positive behavioral/educational outcomes and mitigate/prevent negative ones provide high level of structure to facilitate completion of required learning outcomes work and play at student’s physical level of their activities provide support in use of adaptive and learning technologies using a variety of devices and associated programs Successful implement the Positive Behavior Plan(PBP), if required Provide swimming and associated pool support (ISSP specific requirement only) Manage student behavior using strategies learned through NVCI certification (Specific requirement) NVCI Certification Provide school directed indoor and outdoor student supervision Employee is expected to work with behaviors related/associated with conduct, obsessive/compulsive, trauma and stress related, severe chronic depressive, feeding and/or eating disorders etc. Other behaviors related to ADHD, emotional/behavioral, learning and speech & language-related disabilities, etc may be encountered. Employee may be required to provide school directed supervision both in and outdoors. The successful candidate will be required to provide a Criminal Reference and a Vulnerable Sector Check. FMCSD may contact past and present employers for references. All FMCSD employees are expected to be computer literate; this includes fluency with e-mail, Internet and MS Office.
