Your Role: The Facilities Engineering Intern may work on a variety of projects, applying their engineering education to real world experiences. The Intern will be focused on improving the safety and reliability of Facilities equipment and systems. These objectives will be accomplished through continuous improvement and applying lean principles: Work on or lead a variety of Facilities improvement projects, from concept development through design and verification, and implementation Conduct research relevant to a specific project or issue and identify improvements Assist in the update of procedures for the associated change Assist in the implementation of standards for utility distribution systems Work closely with an engineer in all aspects of their work Interact with many professionals. These include equipment operators, maintenance mechanics, engineers, and managers Learn one or more aspects of the composite manufacturing process Other duties as assigned What we need from you! Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering or MET degree program Ability to communicate effectively with others in a team environment Knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel, including charting, graphing, data manipulation and analysis Familiarity with manufacturing drawings Familiarity or experience with 2D CAD and 3D solid modeling (highly desired) Highly developed mechanical aptitude Ability to manage time effectively while working multiple projects simultaneously Interest in composite material manufacturing is a plus What you’ll get from us!
