Primary Purpose: The role of the Mechanical Designer I, under minimal supervision, works with the engineering team on drawings, bill of materials and technical data. This position is not remote and no relocation assistance is provided. Essential Duties: Work in conjunction with Engineer on assigned projects and day to day requirements. Provide technical support to vendor to ensure that product received meets FNA Group requirements. Support new product development from concept to market introduction and thereafter. Create and maintain bill of materials (BOMs) for manufacturing and service. Perform other duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Proficient with SolidWorks 3D design program. Proven ability to identify creative solutions to problems. Thorough knowledge of engineering materials and manufacturing processes. Good oral and written communication skills. Good organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Working knowledge of modern manufacturing processes (bending, welding forming, injection molding, fastening), mechanical drawing formats, dimension placement and application of tolerances and geometric controls. Above average computer knowledge with spreadsheets and word processing programs. Ability to read/interpret documents. Education and Experience: Associates Degree in Mechanical Design, Drafting, or Computer Aided Design preferred certified in SolidWorks. 3-5 years experience in computer aided design using SolidWorks or Pro/E. Mechanical and electrical aptitude needed.
