Evonik in Singapore Active for more than 50 years, Singapore is home to our regional HQ for Asia Pacific South, Office, Production and Research and Development. One of Singapore’s largest German investors, we invested more than SG$800 million last year – Evonik’s single largest overseas investment to date. Singapore Asia Research Hub Tour A look around our first Asia-based Research Hub. Singapore Operations We employ around 700 people, split across several locations. On Jurong Island we manufacture DL-Methionine and Oil-additives. In Tuas we produce epoxy curing agents, ink and hotmelt resin and polyurethane additives. And in 2018 we opened Evonik’s first Asia Research Hub providing innovation and technical services for functional surfaces, additive manufacturing (3D Printing), tissue engineering, animal feed, polyurethane additives, and beauty and care. Our regional head is Shirley Qi. The Plant of The Future Seamless connectivity and data integration along the asset lifecycle, intelligently plan maintenance and repair measures, or systematically minimize downtime, the digital plant is the key. What this could look like at Evonik is shown in this video. Tissue Engineering in Singapore The current therapies for chronic wounds are arduous and often do not bring lasting success. Therefore the researchers from Evonik are developing new materials and procedures to simplify and accelerate the growth of skin tissue in the laboratory and increase reproducibility. The development of innovative therapeutic approaches for the treatment of chronic and burn wounds is only one of the goals of Evonik’s Tissue Engineering Project House in Singapore.
