Epicure is looking for a Custodian to join our expanding team and support our business as we continue to grow. As a food production facility, Epicure requires extremely high standards to ensure that all buildings and facilities are maintained in a healthy, safe and sanitary manner. The role of the Custodian will follow cleaning checklists to clean and sanitize small and large equipment and provide custodial support in office space, manufacturing, warehouse and common areas. Team Member Profile: Takes pride in ensuring that the Home Office exceeds cleanliness standards Effectively follows cleaning schedules Follows daily direction from the Facilities & Maintenance Manager Takes initiative to search out areas that require attention Works well independently and in a small team Ability to do some heavy lifting and work primarily on your feet Major Responsibilities Maintain the building exterior by power washing, removing litter and emptying garbage bins Maintain cleanliness and appearance of main kitchen in the morning and after all breaks by tidying tables and chairs, dispose of garbage and recyclables and spot sweeping Maintain cleanliness of secondary and test kitchens Ensure the manufacturing areas are clean by using the floor sweeping machine in warehouse between racking, floor scrubbing machine to wash all floor surfaces in warehouse, vacuum between pallets, dusting, and wiping down power and manual jacks Maintain the perimeter of production rooms by cleaning doors, walls, floors and replenishing personal protective equipment (PPE) Ideal Experience 1-2 years of experience in a janitorial role, preferably in a manufacturing environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to stand, sit, and stoop for long periods of time and perform repetitive tasks Ability to follow both verbal and written directions accurately Ability to work well independently and in a team setting Basic computer skills Compensation A clear and transparent payment progression framework (performance-based) Excellent health and dental plan plus a $750 annual Healthcare Spending Account Tuition reimbursement program for your children’s post-secondary education Professional and personal development subsidies totaling $700 per year for all HTMs Safety boot reimbursement Fun events on a regular basis – a monthly celebration lunch, annual summer BBQ, staff and children’s holiday parties, and more!
