Based in Toronto and reporting to the Project Principal, the Transportation Planner will be primarily involved in the technical delivery of micro simulation models to quantify and improve the pedestrian experience for complex infrastructure. This role may also include aspects of project delivery management, preparation of reports and presentations, client interaction, and development of new tools and processes. The Transportation Planner will ensure all work is carried out in full support of our Vision, Mission, Values, and One Company culture. What will you do? Responsible for the development of micro simulation models using the MassMotion software package for transit stations, stadia, or other complex pieces of infrastructure, in collaboration with our BIM technologists and other members of the engineering team. Communicate results of micro simulation models in reports and presentations, both internally and externally. Develop tools and processes to automate the creation and data management of micro simulation models in collaboration with our Technology team. Participates in client meetings facilitating solutions to design issues and challenges and providing status updates. Effectively use QA tools and completes checklists and submits them to the Project Principal as required. Such other duties and responsibilities as Entuitive may assign to you from time to time. What do you need to succeed? An engineering degree with a focus on civil and transportation engineering, coupled with 3-5 years of professional experience in the AEC industry, is preferred. Candidates with Transportation Planning or Urban Geography degrees, coupled with 3-5 years of professional experience in Transportation Planning, will also be considered. Achieved or preferably working towards professional engineering status. Knowledgeable in the appropriate micro simulation best practice documents. Strong project management capability with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and on budget. Must have a working knowledge and ability to use micro simulation software packages. Specific experience with MassMotion or Legion is an asset. Experience coding with Python or a visual programming language such as Grasshopper 3D is an asset. Experience with Autodesk Revit is an asset. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to work with people at all levels including project stakeholders and clients. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and deliverables on an ongoing basis.
