Reporting to the Director, Finance the successful candidate will be responsible for accurate and timely financial reporting, planning and analysis while ensuring the integrity of financial information. This position is responsible for managing and overseeing the Accounting Clerk & Financial Analyst responsibilities with respect to their corporate accounting functions; identifying and implementing process and efficiency improvements; supporting new initiatives, evolving standards and financial requirements; preparing month end financial statements, consolidated budget packages, variance analysis, monthly account reconciliations, year-end audit files and is the finance liaise with external audit team; preparing financial reporting memorandums and schedules to Audit & Finance committee in support of quarterly financial reporting to allow for recommendation and approval to Board in relation to ENWIN Energy and any unregulated business. The Manager Corporate Accounting is an integral part of the Finance Team by supporting the day to day functions of the department including payment runs, bank reconciliation reviews, aiding completion of month end deliverables, reviewing financial results with various departments within the Company; ensuring consistency in application of financial rules, internal controls, management of capital and intercompany spending corporate wide; assisting Director with special projects which include reviewing, directing and defining work and general oversight. The successful applicant must have the following skills and competencies: University Degree in Business with a concentration in Accounting. Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is required. Minimum of three (3) years related experience in finance or accounting. Knowledge and application of IFRS accounting standards. Excellent computer skills working in a variety of computer systems including Microsoft Office (Word & Excel), ERP systems with a good understanding of accounting ledgers, application processes, and financial reporting tools. Strong supervisory, leadership and problem solving skills. Experience supervising in a unionized environment would be considered an asset. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to apply sound reasoning and judgment in decision making. Ability to work independently and in team settings.
