We are one of the largest accredited community living organizations in Ontario providing services through a variety of programs which include; Accommodation Services, Community Support Services in the Barrie and Orillia areas and a variety of programs that support children and families. We are presently accepting resumes for an Infant and Child Development Worker to work in our Preschool Services Department, with an initial work location in Orillia. This position assists families when an infant or preschool child may be identified with, or at risk of a developmental delay. This is a permanent position, working up to 33.75 hours per week with an hourly rate of $27.86. This position will work 9 of 10 business days within a two week period. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB INCLUDE: Degree in Child and Family Studies, Social or Health Sciences, Nursing or Early Childhood Education; Minimum one year recent full time work experience working with infants, preschool children and families; Demonstrated excellent communication, listening and interpersonal skills and excellent attendance and punctuality are required; Must be prepared to work flexible hours; Willing to work and travel across Simcoe County; A current clear criminal record check with a vulnerable sector screening check, pre-employment medical, valid class G driver's license and reliable transportation are required. Overview of Duties (including, but not limited to): Develop collaborative relationships with families; Identify strengths/needs, developmental assessment of infants and preschool children using appropriate assessment tools; Assisting parents in the development and implementation of family service plans, report writing, communicating with other Agencies/professionals regarding individual children/families and providing planned community education in consultation with the Supervisor Empower Simcoe is a respectful, caring and inclusive workplace.
