Based in Dammam, KSA office, the Buyer & Planner position is a very wide interesting role as this will be involved in operations establishment, growth and fields of experiences to be mastered. The position will be responsible for over supply chain performance, material sourcing and planning, inventory management & control, logistics & compliance coordination and leadership. You will be working with a mixed of collaborative, talented and driven team in a challenging environment. Overview Purpose of Position: The Buyer/Planner is responsible for source selection and procurement functions directly associated with the company's specifications and needs for indirect materials and services, fixed assets and tooling, and select production materials and services based on standard and nonstandard designs. The position is further responsible for the timely planning and scheduling, inventory management, inventory control, logistics coordination and compliance ownership under limited supervision to meet business needs. What will be my responsibilities in this role? Procurement: Develop purchasing strategies based on portfolio analyses and supplier referencing study using market and competitive data. Develop, implement and drive the procurement strategies to meet cost savings targets and meet local content targets for certain end users. Interview and visit supplier representatives regarding specifications, product range, costs, inspection, certifications, ethical compliance relating to parts and equipment in the supply scope. Ensure commercial, legal and contractual compliances in all the procurement transactions. Ensure that all potential suppliers are provided with identical information to maintain a high level of integrity and record all information provided and received in the company’s database. Establish delivery terms, time and stages of inspection to ensure on-time deliveries. Understand the engineering design and quality requirements of all purchases and their bills of material to identify the best local sourcing strategy in line with End User requirements. Execute purchase orders and coordinate the planning of production schedules and inventory control parameters for the assigned products and services consistent with Oracle ERP requirements Review, manage and visit the supplier base to ensure consistency with the sourcing strategy. Execute regular performance review with suppliers to drive continuous improvements. Create monthly performance reviews and reports focusing on overall sourcing requirements. Report to management on budget versus actual performance on a project to project and enterprise wide basis Works closely with corporate strategic sourcing to meet enterprise-wide sourcing programs. Study market prices and trends, engineering developments, and manufacturing method improvements applicable to assigned responsibilities. Planning Monitor component level inventory utilization and acquisition activities to ensure the business needs are met. Maintain accurate history files for assigned parts and for supplier communications. Coordinate and/or support the resolution of all issues that may arise with parts including delivery, logistics, compliance, expediting, invoicing, receiving, quality, BOM accuracy and MRP issues. Support design changes and assist with implementation of new products and Engineering Changes. As member of Supply Chain monitor Supplier & Logistics performance and communicate timely with Strategic Sourcing/Logistics team. Lead Compliance local requirements for material sourcing and shipping. Support programs that manage / improve inventory and improved inventory accuracy. Understand how inventory is costed and assist in the annual standard setting process. Using CIP and other tools identify/implement improvements in processes and procedures. Support and/or initiate cost reduction opportunities in accordance with company goals. Assist/support in the preparation of supply strategies that include cost reduction plans, cost containment initiatives, supply lead time and supply base optimization. What do I need to have to be considered for this role? To be considered for this role applicants should have: Bachelor of Engineering degree, supply chain & Operations management or business administration. 3-5 years responsibility for purchasing materials, equipment and or services in a multinational manufacturing environment. 3-5 years experience in logistics requirements and local compliance. Skilled in overall planning and scheduling of material sourcing, inventory management and production planning. Certified or educated to work with an Oracle ERP system Technical understanding of materials specification and standards. Basic knowledge and skills of logistics and compliance requirements. Preferred Qualifications Electrical Product knowledge and familiarity Electrical engineering Degree Electrical material purchasing experience Understanding of Hazardous Area Material with UL NEC, CSA or IECEx compliance Lean/Six sigma certification/knowledge is preferred.
