If you are interested in an exciting leadership role overseeing shifts in a new production facility, then please read on! The Production Supervisor directs, supervises and coordinates all aspects of the operation on their respective shift. Major Responsibilities: Ensures all employees are adhering to Element5 safety policies, manufacturing procedures and workplace policies; Champions product quality, workmanship, methods and processes to meet internal and customer requirements; Help develop the organization’s processes and ensure they remain legally compliant; Assist in managing budgets and forecasts; Perform quality controls and monitor production KPIs; Takes action on non-value added cost or quality issues that may arise during production activities; Recognizes and reacts to equipment issues with maintenance staff; Provides input to management to facilitate effective cost reduction, work simplification, scheduling, or other continuous improvement measures; Authorizes employee timecards using the Time and Attendance system to ensure all employees are properly paid for hours worked; Addresses employee performance issues and corresponds with Human Resources when necessary regarding same; Ensures all employees are properly trained and competent to perform in their role and addresses any employee deficiencies with Human Resources; Champions 5S and housekeeping programs; Completes regular reports as required; Participates and/or leads special assignments when necessary; Attends daily production meeting and reports on the status of equipment, personnel and shift activities; Performs other duties as assigned by Management. Requirements: Completed post-secondary education considered an asset; 2-3 years of management experience specifically in a production environment; Experience in wood/building product industry or a wood processing plant, an asset; Knowledgeable of quality and compliance standards; General knowledge to escalate mechanical issues to maintenance personnel; Knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements and the OH&S Act; Experience working with an ERP system; Technical aptitude a definite asset; Excellent communication and organizational skills; Strong ability to lead, coach, and drive a team to succeed; Great problem solving skills; Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
