This role is part of our UK Finance team, supporting our Financial accounting requirements, in Ascot, reporting to the Financial Controller. To support the Financial Controller in the job of keeping the organisational accounts to the highest professional standard, as well as to support any member of the organisation and/or partners with their financial needs. Ensuring all statutory accounts and taxation compliance requirements are met. Contributes to the development and implementation of the departmental accounting systems, policies and procedures. Supports the department through the collection, processing, recording, reconciliation and reporting of financial data, verifying the validity, completeness and accuracy of source documentation. Maintains complete and proper records of revenue, expenditure, assets and liabilities, and ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial information. Successful applicant would be expected to spend 2-3 years within the role. Being part of the UK finance team, which is situated across two sites (Ascot / Harwell). Duties and tasks Managing month-end activities including Group reporting, journals and balance-sheet reconciliations Management of the annual Statutory audit process, including preparation of the statutory financial accounts Board pack preparation, included the P&L, Balance Sheet Cost Centre Management: - Labour, Expenses & Depreciation. Cost Centre Reporting Prepares quarterly and annual National statistics Assembling data for quarterly and annual Tax filings Maintaining Access and Approvals workflows, within the financial systems. Capital: Justification & Reporting Management Reviews and Variance Analysis: PO Price, Cost Activity, Work Order, Stock Adjustments / Revaluations, Weekly and Month end Reporting Packs Inventory Controls: Cardex Analysis, Work in Progress Reports, Stocks in Transit Ad hoc projects as needed Criteria skills ACA, CIMA or ACCA Qualified (newly qualified or experienced) Minimum of 4 years working experience within a Finance Department Experience of working in a Manufacturing operations environment with solid understanding of manufacturing accounting and costing is preferred Good understanding of month end procedures Excellent communicator Proactive and capable of working independently Team player Proven ability of working under pressure / to tight deadlines Strong IT skills (especially Excel. Will be expected to perform competency test at interview stage) Works in a collaborative way within and across functional boundaries
