Manager, Solution Architecture Reporting to the Director, Solution Delivery, the Manager, Solution Architecture is accountable for the selection, design and deployment of high quality products and solutions across the enterprise. You will provide leadership for the solution architecture function, working collaboratively with stakeholders in the evaluation, design and implementation of solutions which are compliant with our reference architecture. You will work collaboratively with the Solution Analyst to identify and recommend solutions that align with our reference architecture and support business needs. You will provide coaching, mentorship, development and people leadership for the team of Solution Architects and Solution Analysts. You will provide consultation and guidance to EIA on products and services of a “confidential business information”* nature that will improve the effectiveness of operational processes, improve the passenger experience and enhance our commercial and business development efforts. This role demands hands on leadership working with a core team of technical professionals following a hybrid agile (design thinking) delivery methodology. ”Confidential business information” refers to information whose disclosure may harm the business. Such information may include trade secrets, sales and marketing plans, new product plans, notes associated with patentable inventions, customer and supplier information, financial data, and more As an Experienced resource will oversee, guide and advise Solution Architects and Analysts. Facilitating the establishment and implementation of standards and guidelines that guide the design of technology solution including architecting and implementing solutions requiring integration of multiple platforms, operating systems and applications across the enterprise. Key Functions Lead employees using a performance management and development process that provides an overall context and framework to encourage employee contribution and includes goal setting, feedback, and performance development planning. Lead employees to meet the organization's expectations for productivity, quality, continuous improvement, and goal accomplishment. Provide effective performance feedback through employee recognition, rewards, and disciplinary action, with the assistance of Human Resources, when necessary. Develop and enhance our reference architecture ensuring all solutions and capabilities are procured, configured or built adhering to our target state. Consult with our internal business departments to identify opportunities or challenges and partner with them to assess solution options. Select, design, implement and deploy integrated solutions aimed at integrating our OT and IT environments (integrating information technology (IT) systems used for data-centric computing with operational technology (OT) systems used to monitor events, processes and devices in enterprise and industrial operations), ensuring that information is accessible internally to key stakeholder groups and within an ecosystem of airport partners. Develop, maintain and mature a practice framework for application and Integration architecture (standards, templates and guidelines). Guide teams on best practices for solution engineering, integration of data and services, component re-use, technical standards and principles to ensure solutions are compliance with security policies, standards and practices Present and communicate complex ideas and solution options to a broad audience, including executives effectively. Establish and manage a technology solution review board and ensure there is alignment with change management Demonstrate a high performance, high discipline, safe, accountable, focused, innovative and achievement-oriented, easy to do business with manner of working. Identify the necessary budget requirements for the provision of Solution Delivery activities. Requisite Skills Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related field with 7+ years of experience in multiple IT areas and 4–6 years of relevant architecture and integration experience. Preferred TOGAF certification. Zachman, DoDAF, FEAF certifications is also preferred Strong sense of accountability - strong personal initiative; can-do attitude; self-motivated to do his/her best to get things done. Strong demonstration of team work; ability to work with diverse teams in a dynamic, fast paced environment. Senior level experience within an integration architecture: SOA, ESB, API Gateways, IOT, Data management Outstanding communication skills with an ability to translate business requirements and outcomes into pragmatic and effective solutions. Ability to develop strong working relationships with cross functional stakeholders in IT and business managing competing priorities in a dynamic, fast paced environment Communication skills - able to communicate effectively and clearly both in writing and verbally. Technical writing skills - able to write technical documents such as conceptual, logical and physical architecture diagrams. Facilitation and presentation skills – able to design and run effective and successful meetings and workshops Mentoring and coaching skills – able to coach and mentor members of the technical team who may be transitioning to new roles Ability to work effectively with vendors and contract service providers, including offshore development teams. Attention to detail, conceptual modeling skills, bring value to the process of change management, risk assessment, building relations and teamwork. Leadership skills - Ability to manage / lead group of resources to complete tasks. Communication skills - ability to communicate effectively and clearly in writing and verbally Technical writing skills - ability to assist in writing technical documents such as design documents, context diagrams, test scripts, support documentation, etc. Strong problem solving abilities Skilled Knowledge Demonstrated experience with Service Oriented technology Architectures (SOA) and web services. Ideally, has experience in the Airport/Airline industry and/or Transportation & Tourism Field. Strong working knowledge of the software development lifecycle and project management practices (Agile and Design thinking).
