What is the purpose of the role? You’ll be part of a small and busy Legal team dedicated to advising the business on legal, regulatory and commercial risks and assisting with exciting opportunities and growth while at the same time being efficient and advising in a pragmatic manner. Key activities: Preparing and negotiating a wide variety of commercial contracts, both in the UK and globally. Taking responsibility for client contracts globally (with the General Counsel where required) and client/media agency NDAs; Assisting with corporate matters such as acquisitions and disposals and intra-group reorganisations; Preparing and maintaining standard contract templates; Taking ownership of/working with the General Counsel on ad-hoc projects such as GDPR, banking, property and employment matters; Working directly with business personnel across Ebiquity’s practices for ad-hoc legal matters; Dealing with share option exercises including liaising with registrars, brokers and participants; Maintaining share option registers; Managing PC Sec software and ensure it is kept up to date; Preparing and issuing all RNS announcements; Liaising with external legal counsel as required from time-to-time. What will you bring to the role: You will be a solicitor with both technical knowledge and an ability to turn this into commercial advice. You must be a person with confidence and integrity when dealing with people at all levels. You will be able to manage your own work load with the ability to prioritise. There will also be some Company Secretarial work involved and so an interest in this type of work is required. Background and desirable characteristics: You’ll be a qualified Solicitor or Barrister – 1 to 3 years post-qualification Good training in law – especially commercial contracts and data protection; Existing in house experience preferred but not required; Pragmatic and business outcome focused, rather than a legal technocrat; Delivery and output – an ability to be responsive, reactive and comprehending of a wide variety and volume of business and legal challenges; Aptitude to quickly adapt to new working environments with strong commercial acumen; Demonstrates strong commitment to objectivity, working in partnership and the potential for improvement and is authoritative, innovative, engaging and trustworthy.
