15.5 hours per week, permanent post £22,535 - £33,895 per annum pro rata. We are looking for a committed Art and Design lecturer to join the School of Art and Design at East Sussex College Hastings. The ideal candidate will need to have experience of a teaching environment, ideally in FE, be willing to support and grow our creative students pastorally and creatively, contribute to a team ethos and be ambitious to ensure all learners achieve. The department specialises in delivering curriculum across the UAL frameworks and excels in providing exceptional progression routes for our students amongst many prestigious universities such as Central St Martins, The Slade and The Royal College of Arts. Our ceramic, textile, photography, print, metal and glass workshops include specialist equipment such as pottery wheels, kilns, large traditional printing presses, dark rooms, as well as industry standard software packages, such as Adobe, for photo editing, animating, and video production. This is a great opportunity for an Art and Design practitioner to be part of an excellent team in our inspirational, creative and resourced environment. You will be teaching the full range of creative skills across Extended Diploma curriculum, bringing your passion and talent for your subject to inspire our students. You will need to plan and deliver high quality learning activities, maintain student records and work with your colleagues across the faculty, site and wider college group. You should have or be working towards; an initial degree in an Arts-related subject a recognised teaching qualification, knowledge of and proven ability to teach the curriculum Hastings is a local hub for the creative arts. The recently reopened Hastings Contemporary gallery is one of many leading arts venues in the town and wider area, providing additional resources and inspiration for both staff and students.
