The Landguard Partnership are looking for a Ranger to work on the Landguard Peninsula, Felixstowe. This unique area bordered by the Orwell estuary and North Sea is important for its natural habitat, flora, fauna and heritage. It has Local Nature Reserve, Site of Special Scientific Interest and Scheduled Ancient Monument designations. You will need to be enthusiastic with a passion for nature, self-motivated and confident to work independently. The job requires a range of skills and you will have experience of countryside management and the ability to work outside ensuring the site is maintained in a good condition that benefits both the flora and fauna, and also the many recreational visitors, whilst managing their impact on the natural environment. You will need to be a confident face to face communicator and have experience using IT including social media. You will meet with many types of people while carrying out your role which includes facilitating and leading tours for groups and schools, assisting with events, working with volunteers and other local stakeholders, and dealing with the general public, including helping to enforce restrictions that are in place to protect the area. On site accommodation is available. The successful applicant will require to have a DBS check and attend a First Aid course if not already qualified.
