Reference: PDEV000094 Description: Job Term: Fixed Term Appointment Type: Full time Days of work: Monday – Friday Hours per week: 37 Service Area: Planning and Economic Regeneration/Planning and Development Management Place of Work: County Hall, Beverley Fixed Term to cover secondment of the Conservation Officer 3 year contract We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced individual to join our small, friendly and professional built heritage team. The East Riding of Yorkshire is one of the country’s largest unitary authorities with a wealth of varied and interesting heritage assets, ranging from stately homes, parks and gardens, farmhouses, cottages to industrial buildings and maritime architecture. We also have over one hundred settlements which have designated Conservation Areas. As the Conservation Officer you will spend most of your time working in this varied historic environment, carrying out the statutory duties of the Council in respect of its built heritage and considering new development in conservation areas. You will be part the Council’s specialist Building Conservation team and provide advice to planning officers, developers, land owners, Members and the general public. This is a challenging, technical but very rewarding role within the team and you will hold or be working towards an appropriate qualification and have experience in dealing with Listed Buildings and development in Conservation Areas.
