About East Coast Migrant Head Start Project

Purpose: Plan, conduct and administer programs that train employees to improve their skills and delivery methods for providing Training and Technical Assistance. Lead the design, implementation and oversight of East Coast Migrant Head Start Project (ECMHSP) coordinated research-based approach for the training and development of staff to develop the capacity to excel in their positions. Education and Experience: Preferred: Master’s Degree in Training and Development or related field. Four years of demonstrated experience in a role supporting the training and professional development of staff. Skills, Knowledge and Ability: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal, analytical, consultation and facilitation skills. Ability to build strong relationships with program leaders and staff at all levels. Ability to assess organization training needs, development training materials, coach and motivate staff. Knowledge of and experience using new learning technologies and use of training best practices. Experience in designing programs for adult learners. Strong computer skills including Microsoft applications.. Bilingual English / Spanish preferred. Working Conditions: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers. Travel in/out of state 2-3 days at a time. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Lead and coordinate the development and implementation of East Coast Migrant Head Start Project (ECMHSP) training plan. Identify competencies, knowledge, skills and abilities needed by ECMHSP staff to achieve agency goals. Work with service and system area leaders to develop and implement ongoing processes to assess staff training and professional development needs at the individual, center, regional and corporate levels. Assess the training/professional development skills of service and system content area staff; develop and implement plans based on principles of adult learning to train and support staff in their roles as trainers. Support the service and system content area staff with the development and management of training for multiple audiences using appropriate learning techniques, including instructor led, group, virtual, mobile, eLearning, etc. to address knowledge skills and gaps. Collaborate with Technology Solutions staff to develop systems of identifying needed eLearning tools. Support their growth and development. Collaborate with Technology Solutions to manage the Learning Management System content and tracking systems. Provide leadership, direction, and support in the design, development and delivery of Pre-service/In-service materials to present at ECMHSP training events. Develop and implement systems to track ECMHSP training and professional development efforts at the center, regional and grantee levels. Design and implement systems to evaluate and measure the outcomes and effectiveness of technical assistance, training and professional development efforts. Work with supervisors to coordinate the identification of and planning for staff attendance at conferences and other professional development activities which will assist with enhancing staff’s delivery of training materials and presentations. Develop and track budgets for training, technical assistance and professional development activities. Support ECMHSP staff to design and deliver public presentations, including support with presentation materials and public speaking skills.
