Roles & Responsibilities The Future Resilient Systems (FRS) programme, funded by the National Research Foundation of Singapore, is a collaboration between the Singapore-ETH Centre (SEC), the National University of Singapore (NUS), the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). The FRS addresses the challenges with critical infrastructure systems that provide essential services to modern societies, which is of particular importance to innovation-driven economies like Singapore and Switzerland. Within this framework we are announcing the following job opening of a Project Manager starting in April 2020 or at another date to be agreed upon, we are looking for a Project Manager to join the FRS Management team based at the Singapore-ETH Centre in Singapore. Key responsibilities We are looking for a committed team player responsible for the programme administration and coordination within the newly launched FRS II programme. You will work closely with the FRS management team, the SEC management, as well as with researchers from SEC, ETH Zurich, and local partner institutions in Singapore. Your responsibilities as a Project Manager will include the following tasks (list not exhaustive): Manage the hiring and contracting of researchers. Manage personnel database and report generation. Support researchers on various administrative tasks (e.g., reimbursement requests, procurement, etc.). Manage the administrative interface between different departments at NUS, NTU, SEC and FRS. In particular, to coordinate finance resources allocation and resolve various administrative issues (e.g., enrolment in courses, credits transfer, etc.). Support the preparation of programme budget forecasts, tranche drawdowns and monitoring of costs. Manage the infrastructure and resource requirements in the programme’s office space. Work closely with the building management to resolve issues pertaining to the programme’s office space. Work closely with the IT department to ensure that programme’s software and hardware requirements are met. Manage the organisation of events (e.g., administration, logistics, communication, etc.) together with researchers. Participate and contribute to the team’s weekly meetings. Adhoc tasks that relate to the programme’s administration. You have: A degree in a relevant field of study (e.g. business management, business administration, etc.). A minimum of 5 years of experience in working in a related role in Singapore. Preferably, have experience working in an academic environment. Proficiency in using MS Office tools, including Microsoft Access, Excel, Word and Powerpoint. Flexibility to learn and use other accounting tools. Self-motivation in initiating and executing working tasks and interest to further grow in your role. An ability to proactively communicate, commit to targets and liaise with other colleagues of the Singapore-ETH Centre (e.g., communication team, other research programmes, etc.).
