Electronics Engineer Job Type: Full Time, Permanent * About the Company and the Job EPIC Semiconductors (EPIC) is a fabless technology design firm founded in 2008 in Vancouver, Canada. EPIC has developed a microscopic AI sensor chip (SMART DUST) featuring energy harvesting (this eliminates the use of toxic batteries) and bidirectional non-magnetic (RF-free) communication. Its small size allows it to be easily embedded into everyday objects, sensing “human actions, physical forces, chemical reactions and bio-effects”. EPIC is looking for an entry level Electronics Engineer to join the Electrical Team to participate in the development of new products. The successful candidate will assist in designing prototypes and developing new products. Great environment to learn and enhance the new technology with a team. Responsibilities (includes but not limited to) Execute design of experiments for process and product development Solid grounding in physics and mathematics fundamentals Assemble and test prototype and pre-production products Investigates the origin and cause of failures, damages or defects in the electrical fields Work with tight deadlines Experience designing and implementing complex electronics hardware system Evaluate off the shelf and custom drivers, components, PCBs, PCAs, etc. Ability to rework, analyze, solder PCBs Developing software systems to control circuits, and other electronic segments Collect data and write about the technological research Ensuring the design meets the regulations and quality standards by IPC, FCC, IC etc. Cooperation with Research and Development projects Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or a related field 2 years of experience in Engineering (Preferred) Proficiency in design, schematic capture, simulation and layout of electronics Detail oriented Occasional travel may be required Expertise in electronic, analog and digital knowledge Good communication skills and able to work as a team Knowledge of EMI and EMC testing, plus safety certification experience is a great asset Salary: TBD Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Please visit our website for more information about us https://www.epic-semiconductors.com/ Please apply with a tailored cover letter and an updated resume.
