Down to Earth require a Site Labourer to support the Site Manager in implementing the health and safety and traffic management plans for our construction sites and ensure that the site is kept to the high standards expected. They will support the construction teams with resource and tool management, site cleanliness and waste management. Also, this person will support the Construction Administrator with data collection for the project; In particular waste management. Additional training We are prepared to provide additional training for the right applicant to supplement their existing skill set, if required. Contract duration: This is a 10 month contract with a 4 week probation period, however, we are confident this approach will result in a much longer career opportunity at Down to Earth as our social enterprise continues to grow and we scale this transformative approach across the UK. Working hours and location: Working hours will be 8.00am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, though this may need to be flexible based on the current build demands. Due to relatively remote location and multiple venues you’ll need to have a driving licence and have access to your own vehicle. Job Description: · Comply with responsibilities as laid down in the Health, Safety & Environment Policy and as explained in Site Health and Safety rules/procedures · Implement and maintain the site layout plans and keep on top of temporary works site safety. · Support the construction staff with deliveries and traffic management. · Operate and care for construction equipment and machines. · Help equipment operators, carpenters, and other skilled labor when necessary. · Prep construction sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards. · Load or unload construction materials. · Put together and take apart temporary structures, such as scaffolding. · Follow instructions from supervisors. · Assist craft workers. · Perform site clean-up. · Maintain and report faults with site tools and equipment. Person specification Essential: · Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks. · Must have experience as a general laborer in the construction industry. · Ready to learn from on-the-job training when necessary.
