APS 3 $66,494 to $71,833 per annum Table Office Assistant Table Officers provide administrative support to the Table Office by assisting with the receipt, storage and management of the Senate's collections of documents presented to the Parliament (‘tabled’) to ensure they are, and remain, an accurate and accessible record of the Senate's work. Assistant Table Officers provide support for the key legislative function of the Senate by assisting with the receipt, distribution and management of bills and associated documents introduced to the Parliament. These positions play a pivotal role in providing administrative support to the Senate Chamber in connection with sittings of the Senate, including responsibility for the processing of petitions to be presented to the Senate and the administration of the Questions on Notice database. The positions also provide general administrative and inquiries support across the Table Office, Senate Chamber and the department as required. The occupants of these positions must work effectively in a small team environment, be client-focused, demonstrate attention to detail and maintain consistently high standards while managing competing priorities in the performance of their duties. The Senate Table Office has a policy of staff rotation and the suitability of applicants for either of these positions may be considered in any selection process.
