Annual Salary Range: VPS5 - $98,396 - $119,052 + super Tenure: Fixed Term up to 12 months Employment Type: Full Time (flexible work arrangements may be available) (flexibility may be available) Usual Work Location: Melbourne CBD (flexibility may be available) About the Team The Licensing, Education and Active Transport Team provides a broad range of specialist advice relating to access to the licensing system, road safety education, child restraints and active transport. The Safer Cycling Education project is a state-wide program in development that provides children, adolescents and adults with an opportunity to develop bicycle riding skills and to prepare them to ride safely. This role will be responsible for designing and writing a new curriculum to promote safe participation in cycling across the Victorian community. This will include (but is not limited to) the development of the following: - Five modules and sub-topics for delivery in a school setting - Related instructor training curriculum - Teacher guide - Parent materials About the Opportunity Reporting to the Manager, Licensing Education and Active Transport, we are seeking a Curriulum Developer & Writer. Key Accountabilities will include: Design, develop, write and test new curriculum for a school and community based safer cycling program in alignment with road safety evidence and best practice in cycling education. Scanning and analysing curriculum requirements to ensure that the new curriculum aligns with health and physical activities streams within the Victorian schools curriculum. Responsible for the adaptation of new schools-based curriculum for delivery in a community setting to adult or adult/children audiences. Identification and coordination of the development and design of curriculum materials and resources such as video content, information sheets, posters and other materials. Establishment and implementation of an incremental pilot curriculum testing strategy that includes opportunities for stakeholder participation and co-design. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. About You Ideally we are seeking applications who can demonstrate or possess: Creative and advanced problem solving skills to lead the development and delivery of significant projects to achieve successful educational outcomes. Independent judgement including applying specialist advice in the translation of evidence-based knowledge into road safety policy or programs. Excellent communication skills to negotiate with and influence appropriate internal and external stakeholders to achieve policy outcomes. Demonstrated project management capabilities, including the development and delivery of project plans, key milestones, risks and issue management.
