The Office of Self Sufficiency, which is part of the Oregon Department of Human Services, is looking for 1 (one) permanent, full-time dedicated and compassionate individual. ABOUT THE PROGRAM For more information on Self Sufficiency programs please Act as an information resource and liaison to a diverse group of people (i.e. child care providers, parents, DHS field staff and other community partners) presenting child care program procedures, child care payment procedures, and resolving unroutine child care payment problems related to ERDC, JOBS, and JOBS+ programs utilizing a high degree of technical knowledge about the current program in order to resolve problems. In addition, process and prepare child care provider listing forms for Child Welfare Protective Services and criminal background checks in order to get providers listed and approved with DHS. This position is responsible for issuing appropriate child care provider billing forms, adjustments, as well as completing periodic quality checks to ensure correct payments are issued. WORKING CONDITIONS State wide phone bank requires a regular 8a - 5p Monday through Friday Schedule. Team oriented office environment. This position is required to work as a team member within their own team, provide backup support to co-workers out of the office, as well as work effectively with partners to meet common goals. This is a fast-paced, production environment with frequent interruptions and daily deadlines that must be met and large quantities of incoming mail that must be appropriately processed. Must be flexible and able to adapt quickly to change. Long periods of sitting for data entry, gathering information from the various computer systems, and phone coverage. Utilize multiple computer screens to enter and retrieve information in order to respond to high volumes of customer inquires. Three years of clerical/secretarial experience that included: Two years at a full performance level performing typing, word processing, or other generation of documents AND lead work responsibility or coordination of office procedures. Courses or training in Office Occupations or Office Technology may be substituted for up to one year of the clerical/secretarial experience. The most qualified candidates will possess the following attributes, skills, and areas of experience as they relate to the position: Phone center experience - helpful but not required Self-motivated Work independently and as part of a team, high volume production/office experience Utilize resources to complete work accurately, detail oriented, ability to prioritize.
