These roles offer the potential to work towards a payroll qualification as part of an apprenticeship in Payroll Administration. The apprenticeship will equip you with the skills, knowledge and behaviours required to administer a payroll as well as the opportunity to apply your learning in your role. Responsibilities You will be responsible for providing customer focussed, professional payroll service, working efficiently and confidently with large sets of sensitive data. You’ll be trained to understand and operate every aspect of payroll administration. The role holder will be adaptable and resilient, ready to undertake a diverse range of tasks including the following: Supporting the design, start-up and delivery of our new payroll function, you’ll get involved in testing new processes and procedures. Handling and processing payroll related information and data. Processing different kinds of payments to our employees. Gaining an understanding of and assisting with the end to end payroll processes. Gaining an understanding of payroll legislation including tax, National Insurance and the relevant submissions to HMRC. Gaining an understanding of pension schemes. Communicating with colleagues throughout the business and responding to their queries. Identify any inaccuracies with pay or pension information and work with the relevant stakeholders to sort these out in the best way. Comply with Data Protection legislation and ensure confidentiality at all times. Escalate complex issues to subject matter experts and other stakeholders as appropriate. Learn about legislative, policy or procedural changes to provide accurate information. Maintain an excellent relationship with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate a customer focussed service and early resolution of issues. Deal proactively and flexibly with competing workloads and priorities. Meet performance targets and Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Ensure the HR and Payroll system is accurate including approving and updating entries.
