You will need to: Wear a smile on your face and enjoy what you do Thrive as part of a team Relish a busy, sometimes hectic, environment Be motivated, dynamic and have a ‘can do’ attitude Embrace responsibility and take ownership of your tasks Possess great communication skills, especially on the phone Be comfortable with IT, especially the Microsoft Office Suite of applications Find lorries, trains, big machines, sand, gravel, rocks and recycling mildly interesting Your key responsibilities: Practice and promote the Company’s values of pride, respect, security and excellence Adhere to and promote good safety practices Take orders from customers, usually over the phone Schedule, plan and allocate work to dozens of different drivers each day Source third-party haulage Monitor incoming materials Administration of vehicle earnings and drivers’ wages Be prepared to travel to, and work at, other Company locations Working hours / times: 48 hours per week Monday to Friday between the hours of 07:00 and 17:00 plus five hours on 1 in 3 Saturday mornings between 07:00 and 1200. Salary dependent on experience and aptitude. Benefits, after a successful probationary period, will include: two bonus payments per year; an employer pension contribution of 9%; a ‘Death in Service’ benefit; 20 days paid annual leave, which are in addition to the bank holidays.
