Summary: DMC is currently looking for a Revit Modeller / Revit Designer to join our team on a contract basis, based in our Vaughan office. The incumbent will be responsible for creating 3D models in Revit and producing drawings that will be used for fabrication and construction. The incumbent will have the opportunity to further develop their structural design experience and knowledge on complex mining projects. The incumbent will make best use of commercially available design software, so experience with AutoCAD and Revit is a requirement. Responsibilities: Creates 3D models in Revit and produces drawings to issue to clients. Creates, edits, and manages work sets, families, parameters, etc. in Revit. Develops innovative and creative structural design solutions (layout plans, sections and details) to resolve various structural design challenges. Works with the engineering team to develop preliminary and final designs. Produces preliminary, tender and detailed construction drawings. Reviews vendor drawings, standard details, field data and information provided by project personnel for developing drawings which show details of project features. Completes drawing sets for a specific item or project feature which will be used for fabrication and construction. Details structural elements. Participates in design reviews to evaluate design concepts and make recommendations. Coordinates, collaborates and directs design activities with designers within structural and other disciplines as required. Ensures that drawings are issued by the document control team after being reviewed and signed by appropriate parties. Revises drawings as needed to correct details and reflect actual versus planned project feature locations and dimensions. Supports Site’s design requests and provides prompt responses. Qualifications: 3+ years of experience using Revit for 3D modelling. Proficiency with Autodesk Revit required. Previous structural design experience is an asset. Diploma or Degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, architecture, or related discipline. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, with the ability to set priorities Knowledge of applicable structural design software such as AutoCAD, Navisworks and other Autodesk software an asset. Understands construction techniques, material properties and engineering principles. Strong communication skills. Previous experience working on mining, heavy industry, or construction projects is an asset. No external recruiters please.
