The home of the most decorated soccer club in American history with four time MLS Cup Champions, D.C. United’s home Audi Field opened on July 14, 2018. Within the first two years of opening the venue it has become a go-to destination for both corporate and public events; hosting festivals, galas, receptions, and more with a vision to expand the events calendar. The D.C. United Events and Marketing team is looking for talented undergraduate and graduate students aspiring to enter the sports industry to join us as interns for the summer semester of 2020. D.C. United Events and Marketing interns will be introduced to both corporate and experiential marketing events while fulfilling an internship requisite. As an Events and Marketing intern, you will gain experience in planning for special events for both the team and venue, and sports marketing tactics. This internship is unpaid, and the candidate must be able to receive college credit. There are also potential hourly paid opportunities for D.C. United-related events based on performance. Job Responsibilities Assist Marketing & Events Coordinator with fulfilling appearances at experiential marketing efforts throughout the DMV Participate in the planning and execution of in-stadium events including game day efforts Manage street team assets for activations and ensure that all remain in proper condition Coordinate various event details for experiential marketing events including staffing, scheduling, collateral distribution, etc. Help Events department with logistical needs for private events, festivals, and other stadium happenings as necessary Administrative duties including data entry, research, and inventory management. Collaborate with multiple department team members on different projects including Brand Engagement, Ticketing, Digital, etc. Always represent D.C. United in a positive image Other duties as assigned Skills & Qualifications Coachable, hard-working demeanor with a positive attitude and the ability to multi-task. Ability to work flexible schedule inclusive of evenings and weekends for game days, marketing events, etc. Must be able to receive college credit. Must be able to work a total of thirty (30) office hours per week from May 2020 to August 2020. Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, OneDrive, etc.) Spanish proficiency a plus.
