3rd Line Support Engineer As the 3rd Line Support Engineer you will join a successful and well-established national Fuel and lubricants suppliers. You will join a talented team of support specialists, covering end-user support across desktop, server and networking support to the company's wide and diverse client base. The Role - Our 3rd Line Support Engineer, you will be working in a talented and vibrant team based environment, taking responsibility for expert IT Support. - Initially you will work across multiple sites in Bury, but as your experience grows, you will have the opportunity to get involved in more national off site projects. - You will support a range of technologies, predominantly with a Windows focus on the desktop and server side, in addition to networking support, covering vendors such as Cisco, Linux, IOS and Android - This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to build a career through to a fully-fledged 3rd line role with some cross over into programming using PHP and JavaScript, as the business offers progression through to the very senior[SO1] space; this is a career-defining opportunity. Skills / Experience: We require a 3rd Line Support Engineer to have experience in support the following; - Microsoft Windows, Including server editions - Desktops, Laptops and tablets - Microsoft Exchange & Active Directory - VMWare configuration and maintenance - Veaam - Network switches, routers, firewalls, and general networking in a business environment - Knowledge of JavaScript and PHP[SO2] Our 3rd Line Support Engineer, will hold the following skills; - Effective communication and proven customer service skills, both in person & on the telephone are essential. - Ability to run a customer support desk effectively; online, by telephone and remote access. - A motivated, self-starter with the ability to work on your own initiative and prioritise and manage your own workload. - Effective written and oral communication is essential to the role. - Keeping tight control of data - Maintaining system security and integrity - Excellent communication skills at all levels of the business is key. - Some Knowledge / interest in JavaScript, PHP.
