About the Role: As a Supplier QA Engineer you will support the Quality Manager in the implementation and maintenance of quality processes for new and existing products to assure the highest level of customer satisfaction and to meet the quality objectives of the organization. You will advise and administer the appropriate quality initiatives to implement during each phase of the system development lifecycle. This position supports in the areas of: GMP equipment and process validation writing and testing, supplier development, internal process control and improvement, finished product quality and customer satisfaction. You will also administer quality audits and testing requirements, standards and procedures to industry best practices. The ideal candidate is energetic, collaborative and forward- thinking. What you’ll be doing: Develop supplier quality relationships by incorporating supplier quality assurance agreements (QAA’s) Work in conjunction with Product Quality Specialists, Operation Management personnel and Technicians to drive quality compliance and continuous improvements Participate in the supplier selection, assessment, monitoring and development activities in line with procurement strategy Lead Supplier qualification initiatives in liaison with Cronos Supply Chain and Procurement Develop and maintain critical supplier KPI’s and scorecards Liaise and participate with Engineering Automation team for robust equipment qualification solutions Lead supplier quality audits via Microsoft teams, web-ex, phone, site audits, Etc. Prepare audit reports and follow-up to ensure effective implementation of corrective actions throughout the supply chain as required Lead quality risk management processes Lead quality assurance activities and ensure compliance with Health Canada’s guidelines and guidelines pertaining to production, processing, packaging, labeling, shipping Lead Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR’s) to effective closure, contributing with expertise in advanced root cause analysis, corrective and preventative action Develop and Maintain Receiving Inspection requirements and AQL’s to mitigate and eliminate Cronos product and process quality risks Define the proper test/inspection equipment for receiving inspection in accordance with internal, regulatory and contractual requirements Monitor supplier performance by developing meaningful reports, scorecards and quality metric to present to management Develops, revises and approves quality assurance SOP’s, Work Instructions and forms. Recommend Quality Assurance best practices and helps define and champion Quality Assurance standards Maintaining compliance with the laws and regulations related to cannabis and cannabis products Develop and execute Quality Management Systems (QMS) procedures, train and facilitate the voice of quality within the value stream(s) and validate processes to support a robust QMS You’ll need to have: Minimum University degree or college diploma in related field (Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering) Two (2) years of experience in QA engineering ASQ certification(s) preferred Experience in Cannabis is preferred Ability to read/interpret drawings Ability to travel (~20%) Good understanding of the relationship between Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), industry standards and their application to the manufacturing process Ability to effectively communicate professionally with internal and external team members Ability to work effectively on a team as well as independently Ability to generate meaningful reports using Microsoft office software Cronos Group supports a diverse and inclusive work environment and we will provide reasonable accommodation for qualified individuals in the job application process.
