DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS Continental Express Inc., an asset based, truckload carrier, is currently seeking a Director of Operations at its corporate office in Sidney, OH. We are seeking an aggressive, motivated individual who desires to have a long term career with an industry leading company. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Promote a work environment with an emphasis on the company core values of Safety, Service and Communication Utilize data, analysis, and various metrics to drive continual improvement and cost reduction Lead and develop people by providing a positive work environment through consistently promoting accountability and recognizing superior results Review and analyze daily load volumes and revenue to identify operation trends and efficiencies Manage the driver recruitment process to ensure a steady flow of new hires are joining the organization Assist in managing sales and customer service to provide solutions for customers’ needs and resolving issues. Proactively keep valued customers informed at all times. Actively promote a safety culture by continual communication, training and support of policies and legal requirements Promote and lead driver retention initiatives with willingness to listen, interact, and assist in conflict resolution. Regularly communicate with outside terminals to provide leadership and support Work collaboratively with Human Resources, Accounting, Safety, and Maintenance Departments to ensure long-range goals are attained and plans and policies are followed JOB REQUIREMENTS: Master or Bachelor Degree in business or logistics preferred. Minimum of 5 years prior leadership role preferably in a large, high volume environment. Strong project management and analytical abilities coupled with team building skills. Proven ability to effectively motivate, develop and manage employees. Strong decision making skills and ability to multitask in a fast paced environment Posses high level of integrity, trust and ethics Excellent written and verbal skills and ability to effectively communicate with customers, truck drivers, peers and support staff.
