It's in our blood. We're on a mission to decarbonise New Zealand and safeguard the planet. People are our most precious taonga, and #HumanEnergy will lead the way to a carbon free NZ. Over a 25 year history we've built a flexible and largely renewable portfolio of electricity generation assets, with 80-85% of electricity already supplied renewably from hydro and geothermal stations. For the past two years, our Geothermal team have been hard at work on the design and build of a brand new power station: Tauhara. Nestled in the heart of geothermal country, Taupō, the Tauhara Powerstation is an example of great vision brought to life. An enormous amount of research, conversations, site exploration, complex work and sheer engineering wizardry have come together to get this phenomenal project off the ground. Now well into execution, we're looking ahead. Market signals are clear - there's more mahi to be done here. Tauhara is just the start for us. The wheels are in motion to bring more geothermal development forward, with innovations underway to increase generation efficiency from our existing assets as well as exploring new development opportunities.
