About us Coliban Region Water Corporation is based in Bendigo and is one of the largest Victorian regional urban water corporations. Our service area covers 16,5500 square kilometres including 49 towns and is at the southern gateway to the Murray-Darling basin – Australia's food bowl. We manage, maintain and operate over 50 reservoirs and water storage basins and provide water and waste services to both urban and rural customers. About the Role Make an important contribution to our Climate and Population Adaptation Group at Coliban Water and become a part of a dynamic team of professionals within the Water Resources team. Reporting directly to the Water Resources Manager, the Water Resources officer will manage and analyse large data sets; report on water resource status, identify business improvement opportunities and liaise with internal and external stakeholders on water resource management. Responsibilities Manage and analyse large data sets to maintain data integrity and identify trends, anomalies and insights to inform water resource management decisions. Work as part of a team, or individually with on smaller projects, to ensure that projects are successfully delivered, risks are appropriately managed, and innovative solutions are identified. Report on water resources and assist with the preparation of the annual water outlook, drought response plans and urban water strategy, as well as other technical reports and procedures. Engage with internal and external stakeholders on water resource management to build effective relationships. Provide advice on relevant legislation, policies and guidelines to water resource management. Help identify opportunities for improvement of business process and risk controls. Ensure that Coliban Water is a safe workplace and maintains a sustainable environment by complying with all relevant Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental legislation. Position Requirements Tertiary qualification in an appropriate engineering or science discipline, and some experience in water resources management or relevant field Experience with undertaking statistical analysis of large data sets Well-developed written and verbal communication skills Well-developed computer software skills, particularly with Microsoft Office applications A 'can do' approach to solving business problems or identify opportunities for business improvement In return we will offer you comprehensive induction, ongoing training, accrued days off, professional working conditions and the opportunity for personal development and growth within our organisation. Salary The salary and conditions for this position will be as per the Coliban Water Enterprise Agreement 2017 Band 3 $66,000 – $76,000 Salary will be offered to the successful candidate commensurate with their skills and experience.
