Summary of Position: The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for providing effective and timely administrative support, assisting in the daily operations of the human resources department. The Human Resources Generalist provides support in the following functional areas: recruitment, organization development and training, employee relations, benefits administration, compensation, departmental development, and maintaining personnel files and information for the Group of Companies, and their assigned client/business groups. Duties & Responsibilities, including but not limited to: Oversee the recruitment and selection process – job postings, screen resumes, conduct telephone interviews, coordinate candidate route rides and in-person interviews, conduct reference checks, assist with preparing offer packages Enter new hires, employment changes (i.e. salary adjustments), terminations into the Company HRIS (Dayforce) in a timely matter in accordance with payroll deadlines Benefits administration (Great West Life) Consult and guide management on positive leadership practices, provide coaching on the resolution of sensitive employee situations, including performance improvement, disciplinary actions and organizational changes Health & Safety administration, including matters related to WSIB and the Joint Health and Safety Committee Reporting – vacancies, new hires, promotions, terminations Assist with the development, distribution, and interpretation of policy and procedures in partnership with senior management Help to ensure companywide compliance with policies, procedures and applicable regulations Draft general forms, letters, and reports as necessary Provide support to employees in various HR topics such as leave of absence, HR policies, benefits or any other related HR matters Maintain confidential, accurate and comprehensive employee records and file maintenance according to legal guidelines Perform other duties as required Qualifications: Degree/post graduate degree in Human Resources Management, and CHRP/CHRL designation considered an asset 2-3 years in a similar role within a mid-sized company Experience and proven success in full-cycle recruitment Familiarity with employment law in Ontario and other area of regulations preferred (Employment Standards Act, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and Human Rights legislation) Experience administering WSIB and Occupational Health & Safety programs Experience administering a company benefits program Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently Able to interpret and implement company policies and procedures Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with departments, and key external stakeholders Strong internal customer service skills Excellent time and project management skills, as well as organizational and interpersonal skills Attention to detail in all areas of work Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills Motivated individual with proven initiative Core Competencies: Customer Focus Confidentiality Communication Team Work Resourcefulness Organization Time Management Quality Orientation Problem Solving Accountability and Dependability Ethics and Integrity We offer a competitive salary, plus: Health and dental benefits (contract) Training and other tools and resources for success Advancement opportunities Location: Brampton, ON (407 & Mississauga Rd) Please note that any offer of employment will be conditional upon a background check, including a criminal record check.
