Provides services to commercial customers by the proper and timely execution of general landscape projects in the summer months. (Brick work, mulching, planting, sodding, pruning, topdressing, and other tasks required as part of the construction extra’s team) RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES *Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties. Assist in the construction of landscapes including but not limited to spreading topsoil, laying sod and planting flowers, grass, shrubs and trees. Report lawn, tree, shrub and flower problems to Crew Operate a variety of hand tools and power equipment only once trained and approved to do so Follow all Health & Safety regulations including wearing approved protective equipment. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent; or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Language Skills: Read and interpret documents such as Health & Safety regulations, equipment operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals; Complete routine reports and correspondence; Speak effectively and with respect to peers, crew leader and supervisor within the company. Employees of the construction team must be adaptable to change as each day can be different and ever changing. Delivering this on time and on budget is key for the team as a whole to be successful. Reasoning Ability: Carry out a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form; Ability to deal with problems in an ever-changing environment Other Skills and Abilities: Oral and written communication, listening, time management, self-motivated, flexibility, handle multiple tasks, ability to take instruction, adaptability. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT Must frequently lift/or move up to twenty-five pounds and occasionally lift/or move up to fifty pounds. The employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. Noise level in the work environment is moderate. Hearing protection, Hard Hats, and all other PPE must be worn according to regulations.
