We’re looking a Network Operations Centre (NOC) Engineer to install, maintain, monitor and troubleshoot our customer and core network services such as routers, circuits, firewalls and server. You’ll also be responsible for; Establishing a networking environment by carrying out system configuration and installation while defining, documenting and enforcing system standards Participating in the design and implementation of new solutions for resellers and customers, improving resilience of the current environment Maximizing network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with network specialists on network optimisation Ensuring that all events for installation, maintenance or faults are logged into the ticketing system with all the required information (description, time frame, impact, resolution/ correction steps etc) Ensuring that all installation, maintenance and fault-finding activities are conducted in accordance with good Health and Safety practices and that all appropriate risk assessments are in place prior to any work being undertaken Upgrading data network equipment to latest stable firmware releases Configuring routing and switching equipment Providing remote support of on-site engineers and end users/customers during installation Checking daily and acting on all the NOC ticket queues, including provisioning and peering to ensure requests are actioned in a timely manner Ensuring on-going maintenance and tidying of the data centres, workshop and lab in Telford Reviewing and updating all the NOC documentation as needed Coaching and mentoring other staff members as needed to ensure personnel are working issues as efficiently and accurately as possible in a team oriented professional culture Providing overflow resources for other teams within the NOC as required Please note this role does require participating in a 24/7 shift pattern, including overnight and weekend work. WHAT WILL YOU BRING? Ideally, our new NOC Operations Engineer will have the following; Cisco IOS IP and associated routing protocols 1st/2nd Line Network Support Experience in Data Centre environments Previous experience working 24/7 shift patterns, including overnight shifts Maths and English GCSE to Grade C or above or equivalent Ability to remain professional and focussed under pressure Professional and analytical approach and attitude towards daily tasks Ability to adhere to industry standards Good troubleshooting skills WHATS IN IT FOR YOU?
