As part of the Parks Services team, you will undertake high quality maintenance activities for parks, reserves and streetscapes within the City of Rockingham. You will need to be able to make informed technical and operational decisions and provide support, leadership and advice to staff members and apprentices as required. Horticulturist duties can include mentoring, develop and maintain work programs, prepare maintenance schedules, landscaping, garden refurbishment, pruning, litter removal, fertilising, mulching and general garden maintenance. You will be required to work to daily maintenance schedules, undertake maintenance with various types of horticultural equipment and ensuring the safe operation. You in the role You possess well developed interpersonal skills and enjoy working independently or as part of a team. You have relevant practical experience and knowledge in commercial horticultural and grounds maintenance activities, including landscaping, garden refurbishment, plant identification and species selection. A Trade Certificate in Horticulture is essential for this role, or the possession of relevant experience in a Parks maintenance environment. It is also essential to hold a current and valid MR licence, and a OSH General Induction for Construction card (White Card). What we offer This position offers a wage of $1,211.73 per week (gross).
