City of Olathe 2040 Strategic Plan The City of Olathe gathered input from residents and businesses to help shape the future of Olathe. From this input, the City of Olathe 2040 Strategic Plan was developed. This plan provides the direction needed to be future ready and continue the work towards the City's Vision of "Setting the Standard of Excellence in Public Service". Among the many reasons, our employees tell us that they enjoy the team and individuals they work with everyday. Another key topic is their passion for serving our Olathe community. Employee Feedback The City of Olathe asks for input from employees. in 2020, over 400 employees participated in focus groups and surveys to help shape the future of learning and development programs for the City of Olathe. Their input created our new learning model of Your Path which celebrates the fact that each employee has their own unique learning goals and interests. Examples of possible paths are provided through the YourPath program and the paths feature virtual and classroom learning opportunities to support employee development interests. Cigna Well-Being Award The City of Olathe is honored to be a recipient of the 2020 Cigna Well-Being Award. This award provides recognition for the culture of LiveWell at the City. LiveWell is the City of Olahte's total wellbeing program for employees. LiveWell focuses on not only the physical well-being of employees, but also their mental, financial, career, social, and safety well-being too! This program showcases what we do, but in reality it's reflective of who we are. The Gratitude Tree The City of Olathe celebrates gratitude in a variety of ways each year. In 2019, The City's Employee Wellbeing Committee hosted a month long event with a Gratitude Tree. The Tree provided an excellent way to recognize employees and at the same time give back to a community food pantry. This is a great example of what makes the City of Olathe a great place to work. Selfie Day at City Hall City of Olathe employees take time to gather safely to celebrate National Selfie Day at City Hall. This is just one of the many activities employees participate in that make our culture fun and inclusive.
