The Position The successful candidate will perform a variety of responsible administrative support activities in the Beaverton Municipal Court, which handles traffic crimes and other misdemeanors, traffic violations and other violations, city code misdemeanors and violations, and parking violations. The Court operates in a paper-on-demand environment with extensive use of personal computers and scanning equipment. This position will have daily contact with the public and incarcerated individuals. The schedule for this position will be: Monday: 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday: 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday: 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday: 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. This is an SEIU classified position. Responsibilities Process court related transactions Constant interaction with the public at the counter Answer a large volume of phone calls promptly Explain court procedures Monitor traffic and criminal payment accounts Receipt fines and fees Scan and index legal documents Run driving records and criminal histories in the Law Enforcement Data System Support and respect diversity in the workplace Other duties as assigned Qualifications Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED Two years of experience in an office setting working with public, including 1 year of cash handling Ability to successfully complete and pass skills test Ability to obtain Law Enforcement Data System (LEDS) certification within 30 days of hire. Ability to become CJIS certified. Pre-employment fingerprints need to be completed and cleared prior to start date. Testing occurs within 30 days of hire. Ability to pass reference checks, background check, and drug screen Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a municipal court setting Court experience Bilingual Compensation Wage Rate: $19.07-$25.55 per hour Starting wage will be determined depending on relevant work experience. The city pays the full retirement contribution to PERS; provides employees with an opportunity to participate in a deferred compensation retirement plan; and offers excellent health, dental, vision and life insurance coverage. The city also has available a tuition reimbursement program and a public service loan forgiveness program.
