Chromalloy Gas Turbine's services are more than metallic skin deep. A jet engine services company, Chromalloy provides gas turbine engine maintenance and repair services, airfoil coatings, and spare parts to overhaul shops, commercial airlines, and the US Air Force. The company, which operates through its Power Services and Component Services segments, also serves industrial markets, including US and international electricity-producing turbine operators. Its services to industrial customers focus on the repair and maintenance of major rotating parts, cases, frames, and combustors. Chromalloy Gas Turbine is the largest subsidiary of its diversified parent, Sequa.\n\nThe company routinely wins contracts with the US Department of the Navy, Air Force, and other federal agencies. It also serves its commercial customers directly and through a number of joint ventures. It owns a controlling stake in Belac LLC, a joint venture formed with United Airlines, Lufthansa, and Alitalia that produces low-cost, high-pressure turbine (HPT) blades. In addition, Chromalloy has two joint ventures with Rolls-Royce: Trent and Tay, which repairs Rolls-Royce engine turbine blades; and Turbine Surface Technologies, which provides coatings for turbine components. Another joint venture, Advanced Coating Technology, is co-owned by competitor Pratt & Whitney and provides thermal coatings for commercial and military turbine engine airfoils.\n\nChromalloy Gas Turbine was founded in the 1950s. It has grown to more than 35 locations in 15 countries, and it claims to be the world's only non-OEM player to offer coatings, repairs, castings, manufacture, and overhaul services.
